Testing- AP,PSAT, SAT, Pre-ACT, ACT

The window to register on My Payments Plus (MPP) will be open from Wednesday Aug 13, 2025 until Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Cost is $30 per exam.

The PSAT/NMSQT will be offered to 10th and 11th grade students on Saturday, October 11, 2025 Interested 10th and 11th grade students need to register by September 10th.

College-bound 10th and 11th grade students are encouraged to take the PSAT to gain exposure to the SAT, an exam many colleges use when making admissions decisions. Typically, we suggest waiting until after a student completes Algebra 2 since this will be part of the math assessment, but it is up to the individual's readiness. Students can only take the PSAT once per year, and many students take the test in both 10th and/or 11th grade. If students earn a high score on the PSAT during their junior year, and they could qualify to receive a National Merit Scholarship, from the National Merit Scholarship Program. This is a practice to the SAT and scores are not sent to any college. For more information about the PSAT, you can visit the College Board website.

The PSAT will continue to be in a digital format. Students will be using their district laptops with a downloaded College Board app. Students will need to bring their laptops, chargers, pencil, photo ID, and CollegeBoard approved calculator on the PSAT testing day.  Students should report by 7:15 am.  The PSAT will prompt begin by 7:45, and should end approximately by 11:15 am.   The College Board has provided a Info page on the digital PSAT page to help everyone understand the digital format exam, and practice resources for this digital format.

The College Board has also changed how PSAT registrations are processed, so late registrations are no longer possible. The registration window will open on the MPP website starting Thursday, August 15th, through Sunday September 15th, so all who register will be guaranteed an exam; however, seats for this exam will not be sold after the registration window closes on September 10h, 2025

While the PSAT/NMSQT is a tool used to prepare for the SAT, there are a number of resources we recommend Sophomores and Juniors utilize for test prep:

*College Board website- Taking a full-length SAT practice test is one of the best ways to simulate test day. Eight official SAT practice tests are available for free, both online and on paper. Created by the makers of the SAT, each practice test has the same types of questions you'll see on test day. Six of the practice tests have even previously been given as actual SAT exams.

*Take free SAT practice tests online with Official SAT Practice on Khan Academy®. Your answers will automatically be scored at the end of your test, and the timer will keep you on track with section time limits.

*The Central Bucks School District offers E-Prep, a free standardized test prep and practice program for the PSAT, SAT and ACT to all its students. Students are automatically registered for this program; students can get assistance at the school library.

October: PSAT and National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test- All college-bound juniors should plan to take this exam.

December, January, March, May, June: SAT

SAT and/or ACT: College-bound juniors should plan to take two tests, an SAT and an ACT during the second semester of 11th grade. Students may need to test in the early months of the second semester in order to allow for scores to be returned in a timely fashion. This way they may make an informed decision regarding future standardized tests. Students may want to sit for additional standardized tests either late in the junior year or early in the senior year so they may further improve their scores. The Guidance Department bases its recommendations upon the individual testing needs of each student. For specific information, please see your individual counselor.

May or June: SAT Subject Tests: College-bound juniors should plan to take this test if necessary for college admission.  See below for CollegeBoard's timeline for 11th grders:
