College/Career Planning (Resources for underclassmen)

COLLEGE/CAREER PLANNING
 
Central Bucks High School-East is committed to preparing students for success after high school. On this webpage, students and families can find links to assist in post-secondary planning. 
 
College Visits at CB East during the school day are open to all students.
 
 
11th and 12th grade students are permitted to miss 3 days of school each year for the purpose of visiting college campuses.  You may submit your request through the portal to the attendance office or a parent may call the attendance office at 267-893-2320
 
 

Fall/Spring Junior Year to-do items: 

Meet w/admission reps in fall at East (sign up on Naviance) 

  • SAT/ACT – make a plan (Eprep is a prep tool available to you.  Login is your school email and password is East2027 or East2028 – your graduation year) 

  • Use Naviance to search for colleges 

  • Attend Central Bucks College Fair - 3/11/26 

  • Visit college campuses (Junior year, Senior Summer and Senior year) 

  • Complete Counselor Recommendation Questionnaire (Naviance) 

  • Ask teachers (typically 2 from core subjects) by the end of the school year if they will write a letter for you 

  • Build a well-structured list of colleges (Safety, Match, Reach)   

  • Research admission deadlines, and application types by visiting the college admission pages of their websites – SUGGESTION-- make a spreadsheet to stay organized 

  • Choose 12th grade classes wisely (Balance is key!) 

 

Summer Senior Year to-do items: 

  • If schools have “rolling admission” or you have early fall deadlines, start working on your portion of the application in August.  This includes schools that require students to “self-report” their transcript via a SRAR.  You can access your unofficial transcript on the portal under “documents”.  (Tutorials will be available on the CB East School Counseling website) 

  • Visit Colleges 

Fall Senior Year to-do items: 

  • More information will be provided on how to request transcripts/recommendations from East 

  • Submit applications by the college deadlines 

  • Meet w/admission reps in fall at East (sign up on Naviance) 

  • Visit Colleges 

  • File FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for all colleges and if applicable CSS Profile < ----(required only by some colleges) 

  • Apply for college scholarships (know your colleges procedures…are separate applications required or are you automatically considered via admission application?) 

  • Check Naviance throughout the year for local scholarships
